Become a Meal Site

Are you interested in becoming a Summer BreakSpot meal site? Great!

A site is where Summer BreakSpot meals are served during a supervised time period. Meal sites may be in a variety of settings, such as:

  • Schools
  • Recreation centers
  • Hospitals and clinics
  • Parks
  • Churches
  • Community centers
  • Day camps
  • Residential summer camps
  • Housing authorities
  • Migrant camps and Indian reservations

Our office can help connect you with an existing sponsor to become a meal site.

Here’s a little more about what is involved in being a site.

  • Attend your sponsor's training
  • Supervise meal service at your site
  • Manage staff and/or volunteers
  • Distribute meals by following State and federal guidelines
  • Keep daily records of meals served
  • Store food appropriately
  • Keep the site clean and sanitary
  • Promote the program in the community
